How to Join
Joining AFM 174-496 is simple and rewarding! Follow these steps to become part of a powerful network of over 80,000 musicians advocating for your rights and interests.
Step 1: Download and Complete the Application
Step 2: Schedule Your New Member Orientation
- Mandatory Orientation: Per our bylaws, all new members must participate in a New Member Orientation.
- After submitting your application, contact our office at (504) 947-1700 to schedule your orientation and coordinate payment of your membership dues.
Step 3: Include Required Documents
- Full-Time Students: Attach a copy of your current student ID.
- Group Members: If you’re joining with one or more bandmates, note their names on your application. Each member must submit a separate application.
- Bonus: Joining with bandmates saves you $115 in waived initiation fees!
Step 4: Pay Your Dues
- Dues Options:
- Quarterly: $48 (3 months)
- Semi-Annually: $95 (6 months)
- Annually: $176 (12 months)
