Bob Schleeter has performed extensively with jazz, soul, rock and blues ensembles in the SF Bay Area and throughout the US. His work as a sidemen includes appearances with artists such as Bob Weir, Shana Morrison, The Drifters, Clarence Bell (Stevie Wonder alum), and Hal Crook.

 

Well-versed in modern musical theater, Bob is the co-creator, along with long-time collaborator Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, of four works for the stage produced throughout New England and Southern California. The Boston Globe called their show Sara’s Jukebox “a hit, tantalizingly diverse, yet widely appealing.” His latest independent project, Big Kitchen: A Counter Culture Musical, was featured at the San Diego Fringe Festival in 2015 and again in 2017.

 

In addition to his work as a player and composer, from 1990 to 2017 Schleeter built and led the highly esteemed Marin Academy music program. Berklee College of Music President Roger Brown calls him “one of the finest music teachers in the U.S.”, with dozens of his students going on to professional careers in music.

 

Schleeter is a 1989 graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music.A life-long student of the art, he has played and studied music throughout the U.S. as well as in Brazil, Ecuador, Cuba, Spain and Greece. Beginning in the summer of 2017 he left the classroom to play, write and travel full-time
